Two Week Checkup and other Fun Facts 


Today at the doctor Greer weighed 8lbs 14oz up from 7lbs 9oz on Sept 16 (She weighed 8lbs at birth), and measured 21 inches.

More Fun Greer Facts:

-Her umbilical cord stump fell off on the 4th day after her birth. We didn't put alcohol on it. Instead, we broke open capsules of goldenseal powder and dumped that on it a few times a day.

-She likes looking at herself in the mirror that is next to the upstairs changing table during diaper changes (which is on the bathroom counter--very convenient for wetting the wipes by the way).

-She's a wiggly baby--she moves/rolls around a lot. She also doesn't seem to mind being unwrapped. We have actually never swaddled her up tight, which was something we always did for Ben when he was a newborn.

-She gets the hiccups on a regular basis. Fortunately this doesn't seem to bother her.

-She does not spit up much--we haven't had to be terribly careful about burping (knock on wood!).

-She sleeps for long stretches and nurses for long stretches (it seems like hours sometimes!). The doctor called this cluster feeding.

-When she cries and Mama isn't able to come right away she likes when Daddy carries her in the sling. For some reason this works better than just holding her.

-Like big brother, she likes sitting in the vibrating bouncy seat.
