| | To start this album, I hesitated between 3 pictures : this one yellow ! | |
| | | This red-one, because it is also very Yellowstone | |
| | | and this green-one too . These pictures are Yellowstone, with so many colors, | |
|
| | Yellowstone is the first US National Park (1872), and spans on 3468mi2 (8983Km2) | |
| | | A 58 miles square (un carre de 94 Km de cote), a crater 1 km deep (2/3mi) , | |
| | | and 52 by 28 miles (85 by 45 Km) wide,and 2/3 of the worlds's geysers .... | |
|
| | and many bisons ! They do not look that big, that mean on these pictures, | |
| | | but keep in mind that they are bigger than a car, weight around 2000lbs | |
| | | and run 45km/h (30mi/h) , much faster than me ! | |
|
| | Hopefully, they do prefer this grass to people ! | |
| | | Yellowstone host 2 thirds of the world's geysers, that's a lot ! | |
| | | And very colorful also , sometimes due to minerals, sometimes due to bacterias | |
|
| | They all vary in shape, depth, colour, steam or sprays, width | |
| | | but they all smell horrible ! Some have one colorinside, and bacterias outside | |
| | | Some are mixing colours like painters. Some are extinct, but show you why not ... | |
|
| | .. walk outside of the wooden pathways. The crust can hold its weight, no more ! | |
| | | And 100m further, one can find a lovely marmot having lunch | |
| | | constantly checking the surroundings | |
|
| | keeping an eye on the 2-legs-1-big-eye, animal | |
| | | and ready to disappear in a blink | |
| |
| | Yellowstone is constantly changing its appearance, from a calm river | |
| | | to tall and noisy waterfall | |
| | | to simple meadows, appeasing, relaxing . | |
|
| | This constant variety ( what a term ! ) makes Yellowstone even larger | |
| | | due to so many different types of landscapes , unexpected or | |
| | | totally unusual by the size, the texture or the colour | |
|
| | The chipmunks hopefully remain as cute and as funny as elsewhere | |
| | | This is one feature of Yellowstone : the wildlife is more present | |
| | | This is the place we 've seen so many different animals | |
|
| | and where we could approach them the closest | |
| | | ... with some limits , of course ! | |
| | | Boiling water flows to the river , and warm it up . Interesting in winter ! | |
|
| | | Seems more curious about us than afraid | |
| | | Or likes to pose for photographers ! | |
|
| | the variety of landscapes entails the variety of animals | |
| | | for the greatest pleasure of the eyes | |
| | | and for the succession of feelings , like waves . | |
|
| | How do you feel seeing this ? | |
| | | | A look, then turns its back and calmly crosses the river | |
|
