Vayageurs National Park - part 1
During our one month trip, it is the first Park we visited . In parks, we usually take trails, walk with big shoes and a backpack. In this one , we sit down in a canoe, wear a swimming suit, and exchange the backpack for a picnic basket !

Voyageurs is 5 hours driving North of Minneapolis. Fill all the tanks !
Voyageurs is 218,000 acres (882 Km2) ,with Kabetogama, Namakan and Rainy Lakes
Named after the French-Canadian fur traders using lakes as an East-West road.
So, Ready for the trail ? Let's go !
Don't worry for the weather
When it is rainy, the vegetation is even greener
We landed here, Voyageurs Park Lodge, by chance, and we were lucky !
They are simple, relax, ready to help ! Hi Casey ! Nice cottages, nice location
We really enjoyed our stay there ! (www.voyageurparklodge.com)
You may rent motor boats, but we preferred the canoe for its silence ...
and its maneuverability . We could explore the islands even in shallow waters
and take pictures of undisturbed wildlife
www.nps.gov/voya/ will show a map of the park and of all the islands
Cormoran, Seagulls on a rock ! You don't need this kind of comments, do you ?
There are many, many islands, some like the kitchen, some like a football field.
Paddling on the lake is relaxing like a walk in woods, it 's not a race !
Wild vegetation, sun, nice wind, fresh waters, lots of birds
the silence of a desert island
the calm and peaceful landscape
the excitation of discovery
... the question : What is in here ?
...and the answer !
not always the same answer !
And when this is the answer , it is still beautiful
...really beautiful !
I let you explore this island by yourself, in silence... enjoy !

So cute !
Let's try to get closer !
....Too close !
