No Penetrating Particles for the AGU meeting
I'm frustrated.
Woke up late this morning, at 9:45 AM. Really
tired last night, so I needed to sleep in quite a
bit.
Walked with my computer backpack
full to the Morial Convention Center, a few blocks away. How hot and humid can
this city be? I should have packed a few more
shirts.
Met Dick outside the poster and
registration hall, but then Paulette L. needed to talk to him, so I went in to
pick up my registration materials. Soon afterward, Dick and I sat at a table
and looked through the current state of my penetrating particles analysis.
After fiddling with the Fe points, we came to the conclusion that C & O need
a higher "global correction factor" than Si & Fe to line up the penetrating
particle fluences with the stopping particle fluences, and since we don't have
time to do much further (we have to turn in our presentations at the Speaker
Ready Room tomorrow), we'll have to drop the subject for
now.
I'm very frustrated, but I agree
with the need for further
analysis.
Came back to my room after
lunch to work on what's left of my talk. I'm going to try Keynote.
