Rachel Maddow...Pssst!
I'm going to let you in on a little secret: Rachel Maddow is my new girlfriend. She just doesn't know it yet. Sssshhh! Don't tell Brian. What has brought me to this conclusion? Well, we watched her show last night, and instead of cowering in the corner like the media has for ages, she actually seems to be interested in exposing the silliness and hypocrisy of politics. Much like the Daily Show, but real. Now this crush is as much of a surprise to me as it may be to you. I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "How can you possibly have a crush on Rachel Maddow, you never, ever, ever watch CNN, or MSNBC, or gods-forbid Fox Noise?" (OK, yes, you may also be wondering if I know she's a girl and therefore not my type. Or you may be wondering if I know I'm a boy and therefore not hers. But those are trivial questions and I'm sure we'd find some way to make it work.) Anyway, it just so happened that nothing was on last night and I flipped past her show and she was showing the horrible, horrible clips of Sarah Palin being interviewed by Katie Couric. (How does *anyone* bomb in an interview with Katie Couric? That's the journalistic equivalent of being interviewed by a box of puppies.) That segment was pretty good, but her skewering of Ol' Grampy John McChicken's non-suspension suspension of his campaign was excellent. Enjoy. Posted: Fri - September 26, 2008 at 10:11 AM |
