Martini recipe...A new favorite?
Anyone that knows me well can probably recite,
from memory, my usual drink order: Dirty martini, up, Tanqueray, with
gorgonzola stuffed olives. In fact, the local watering hole that we frequent
once named that item after me, calling it "Dirty Al's Dirty Martini" on their
menu. Of course, I hate the name Al, but somehow it seemed to work in the
name.
Anyway, I may have found a new favorite drink: A cilantro and lemongrass martini. Simply muddle some cilantro and some lemongrass in vodka. Shake over ice and serve. Springy and light. You would think that cilantro, with such a strong flavor, would make this overpowering but it really is quite nice. It's like mojito, except with gin instead of rum and cilantro and lemongrass instead of mint. (Note: I think if you also added a tiny bit of ginger root, it would be outstanding, but I haven't tried that yet.) Posted: Tue - May 9, 2006 at 08:51 AM |
