Last Thursday night we went out to the Reel Pride Film Festival to see a screening of Bear Cub.
This is the story of a Bear who inherits his drug-addled sister's kid when she gets arrested while travelling to India. Obviously there's the evil grandmother who doesn't want the queerboy to have the kid.
It was a cute, slightly touching film. Predictable, though. And I had the feeling they didn't know how to end it. Eventually I think they decided, "Grandma must die!" and that's what they went with.
Think "Movie of the Week" with Meridith Baxter Birney, except with chest hair and a beard.
*Sigh*
