Queen to Queen's Level 3....

I've had the interesting opportunity to observe some straight guys recently. I'll call them Larry, Moe, and Curly. I don't, for a moment believe these straight guys are representative of anyone but themselves. Because if they were, we're all in a lot of trouble. See, most of their conversations revolve around women, relationships with women, and their theories on their relationships with women. Trust me, if you heard more than 10 minutes of these conversations you'd be calling them Larry, Moe, and Curly too.

Frankly, given their theories of male-female relationships, I'm astounded that any new heterosexuals get made at all.

Basically all of their theories boil down to the idea that relationships between men and women are elaborate chess games in which neither player actually knows the rules. At all moments, each player is attempting to predict and block the moves of their opponent, but have no idea which are legal moves. I'm guessing this stems from the whole "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" bullpucky.

It's pretty sad when the only person in these conversations who seems to know anything about relationships with women is the gay guy. Larry, Moe, and Curly however, refuse to listen to my sage, Yoda-like advice. They refuse to unlearn what they have learned. Why? I think they like the drama. The biggest drama queens in these conversations are the straight guys. They seem to revel in this soap-opera-esque nature of the wacky world of relationships that they create for themselves.

Is this a phase that all straight guys go through? Do they grown out of it? I never went through it. Is that because I'm gay, or is there another reason? Now that I think of it, most of the gay guys I know don't seem to play these games in their relationships. (Yes, a couple do, but again, I think they just like to revel in the soap-opera-esque nature of the world they create for themselvs.)

Anyway ... just an observation.

Extra points of you can: 1) name the quote in the title of this post and, 2) answer it properly.
