| Gay Bloggers Descend on Manhattan... | | Date Created: May 07, 2005, 09:39 AM |
Friday night was the big Gay Bloggers get-together. There were, by my count 18 gazillion bloggers there (though the National Park Service only counted 4). I've been reading some of these folks' blogs for several months now and I wondered...
(cue the Sex in the City, Carrie Bradshaw typing on her computer moment)
Are gay bloggers as funny, cool, and interesting in real life as they are online?
Yup, they pretty much r0x0r, as the kids are saying these days.
I was hoping to have some really good juicy tidbits to post about people. You know, all sorts of blind items like, "Guess which New York City blogger was seen comparing cascading style sheets with another New York City blogger in the bathroom of Barrage?" or maybe "Guess which Dallas blogger had a Pat Benetar dance fight with a blogger from Chicago?"
But the only think I can think of (or remember) is this: Guess which Ann Arbor blogger set his shirt on fire on a candle while posing for a picture with a certain blogger from Arizona? (Hint, it wasn't me. Said blogger survived, but the shirt, I'm afraid, isn't salvageable.) Great line from the shirt moment: Blogger says, "Oh, that's annoying because this was a great Perry Ellis shirt. Another blogger responds, "Don't worry, in New York, it only matters if it's Prada."
But alas, my Ace Reporter skills went out the window sometime after my third tin and gonic. So, I don't have any surprising revelations to um, well ... reveal. Well except for two: Palochi is taller than I thought he would be, and EVil is shorter.
The night was a great time. People were friendly, witty, interesting. All-in-all, even more fun than I expected.
I really do wish I could have seen a dance fight though, I love those.
(Oh, one more revelation: I'm a complete idiot. I left my camera in my hotel room. So you'll have to surf over to some of the blogs in my blogroll and check out the pictures of the evening.) |
