More Presbyterian Nonsense (part 4)

I've held off on mentioning this for a while, because I wanted to wait for some official statement.

Some time back, I mentioned that there's this guy (named Paul Rolf Jensen) in the Presbyterian Church who seems to spend lots of time making accusations about people, most of whom he has apparently never met These accusations are official, and so churches and the denomination have to spend time and money investingating them. The accusations are usually that some minister somewhere is a heretic. Fun huh? Makes you really want to come to church now, doesn't it? I thought so.

Well the good news is that his accusations against Rev. Rigby were dismissed. Completely dismissed. Apparently good things can happen in Texas! This wasn't very surprising because so far as I know, all of these charges have been dismissed against everyone, each time they've been filed.

Well, now the Pastor of our church has been accused by Mr. Jensen of, among other things, officiating at our wedding.

We would all welcome your prayers and good thoughts that these charges, like all the others, will be dismissed ASAP, so that our church can get on with the business of doing its work "to preach good news to the poor, to proclaim the release of the captives, the receiving of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, and to proclaim the year of the jubilee" (Luke 4:18-19). Plus, once these charges are dismissed, Mr. Jensen can get back to filing more charges against other "heretics."

Note: You would be correct in noticing the incredible strangeness of a person filing charges against our Pastor for participating in our wedding, and yet, not filing charges against either Brian or I for actually getting married! Yes, that is certainly strange, but not surprising. In the history of this Presbyterian witchhunt, no elder (that I'm aware of) has been charged -- only ministers. Why? I'm not sure. A cynic might point out that elders (like myself) aren't actually employed by the church like ministers, and thus only ministers stand to loose their livelihood. But only a cynic would make that point.
