| Anarchy by James Robert Baker | | Date Created: Mar 18, 2005, 05:21 PM |
How could you not like a novel that contains Eva Braun's asbestos laced diet pills, a "Baywatch" starlet's exploding boobs, a bunch of fundamentalist nudists (several of whom are gay), the missing tape of OJ killing Nicole and Ron, the Russian mafia, and Catherine Deneuve in Heaven?
That's Anarchy by James Rober Baker. He also wrote a book called Testosterone, which was a terrible movie staring Antonio Sabato Jr. (Or so I've heard, I haven't seen it. The only thing I know about this movie is that you get to see Antonio's junk -- which frankly seems worth a rental, if you ask me, but I'm shallow that way. For example, I don't believe Lord of the Rings should have gotten so many Oscars because we didn't get to see Orlando Bloom's junk. That's just how I rate movies -- deal with it.)
Yeah, I don't really know what this book was about either. It was assembled, so the over-long author's note explains, from notes and papers left after Baker died. (Author's note when the author is dead? The Editor, who authored the book after the author died, wrote the author's note ... figure that one out.)
An entertaining read, completely implausible and silly. I've heard this is by far the weakest of Baker's books, so I'll probably pick up others, just to find out. |
