Sotaro Fukaishi

Sotaro Fukaishi was born in Yokohama in 1963.
He graduated from Kunitachi college of Music majoring in Euphonium.
He won the Yatabe prize of Kunitachi college of music, and Yomiuri new face recital, Yamaha Brass instruments new face recital.
In 1986, he won the second place in a contest of International Tuba Euphonium Conference (ITEC) held by U.S.A. Texas university a euphonium section and the third place in Japanese wind-percussion contest .
Sotaro also won the third place in an international Falcone contest held in the U.S.A. in 1987, and fulfilled the first winning prize of an international contest as a brass instrument player of Japan.
He won a prize in the second place Japanese wind-percussion contest in 1989.
He held recitals in 1988, '89 and 2004 and has also appeared on several recitals and recordings of a Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra and participated in a European tour during 1989, and the Taiwan millennium tour .
He supervised the "Euphonium Popular & Classical music Best Selection" "Fantastic Duet" , "Fascinating Ensemble" and ""Disney Fantastic Duets" of Yamaha Music Media Corporation.
He is active as a lecturer of a Senzokugakuen college of music, Japan Euphonium Tuba Association director, performance technology lecturer of the Japan Coast Guard Band, and Senzokugakuen Brass band conductor.
He works for The Brass Cruise: National Brass Band Championships of Japan 2005 as a member of the executive committee.
