i.ching is a simple Flash application that casts a hexagram using an algorithm that mimics the results of the ancient yarrow stick method of consulting the I Ching. If you have OS X 10.4 (Tiger), download the free Dashboard Widget to cast anytime.
How do I cast a hexagram?
Click the Tai Chi (Yin/Yang) button to cast the hexagram.
What are the lines for?
The unbroken lines indicate Yang flow, while the broken lines indicate Yin flow. The lines, referred to as Yao, are grouped by threes into Trigrams, which are in turn grouped together into a Hexagram.
What are the dots for?
Dots indicate the changing nature of the Yao and are used to determine the approaching hexagram.
