Jacob Ingvald Evanson, b. June 20, 1866 Gropen, ØT; d. Sept. 1, 1897 Northwood, ND. Interred Northwood Cemetery. Arrived in the United States July 1882 with his parents and two sisters. He obtained a common school education in Norway, attended high school in Mayville, ND, and the U. of ND. He received a diploma as a pharmacist from Idaho in 1890, and graduated from Medical College in Portland, OR in 1892, and the College of Physicians & Surgeons in Baltimore, MD, in 1893. Entered the practice of medicine in Northwood, ND. m. Caroline Lien, daughter of Lars and Jorand Lien, b. July 4, 1869 in Clayton County, IA; d. Jan. 10, 1956, Minneapolis, MN. Interred at Northwood, ND. Caroline remarried June 15, 1915 to Rev. N.G. Peterson.

1. Jacob Ingvald Evanson, Jr., b. Aug. 31, 1897 at Northwood, ND. Grad. St. Olaf College. m. Icel May Burlingame, b. May 24, 1910. They lived in Gary, IN, where he was in the advertising department of a Gary newspaper until his retirement to Fallon, NV. Jacob died Jan. 18, 1987; Icel currently lives with Harold and Judy (Evanson) Probert in Fallon, NV.

   2. Jane Lee Evanson, b. June 29, 1956, d. Aug. 5, 1949 of polio.
