The Light Factory in Charlotte, NC is holding a free outdoor screening of the 1956 Billy Wilder classic comedy Some Like It Hot.
Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis star as two struggling musicians who witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. In trying to find a way out of the city before the mob finds them, they dress in drag and join an all- girl band. The comedy of errors continues as both men fall for vocalist "Sugar Kane," played by Marilyn Monroe.

Two of my favorite directors Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Millions, 28 Days Later) and Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain) talked a bit recently about filmmaking. This is apparently just one part of a seven part series. I haven't had a chance to see either of their latest works (Aronofsky's The Wrestler or Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire). If they don't make it to Hickory I think they could be excellent candidates for a 2009 Footcandle screening.
