| Students | What is the Middle School Art Program Like? The philosophy of the middle school art program is one of exploration and discovery. We use a variety of two dimensional and three dimensional materials. As the term progresses we move from lessons that all students experience successfully to more challenging projects. Themes and subject matter are taken from adolescent interests or other curriculum areas. Seventh and eighth graders have art twice a week for half the year or approximately 36 hours. The sixth grade has art for one quarter, or about 18 hours. Check out the website to see examples of student work.

Grade Six generally takes a trip to the Museum of Fine Arts. Check out the link and peruse the art work. Last year Grade Eight went to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. If your name is Isabella, you get in free. |
