The New Israel

Thank goodness we freed the Iraqi people from Saddam. Now we can have peace!

Just stop and think for a moment at the amazing resemblance of our current occupation of Iraq and the Israeli occupation of Palestine. Have we actually improved the situation in the Middle East or made it worse? I'm not talking about right or wrong, but about the perception of the Arab world and it's distrust of the west. Unless we change that perception...we face a lot of history repeating.

I don't support terrorists, and I have no sympathy for the Palestinian cause while Hamas continues its path of terror. If Palestinians want peace, they have to stand up to Hamas and other terrorist groups and say that terrorism is not the answer. However, one has to wonder, once you've heard this all before, how can you expect the Iraqi's or any other Arab nation to trust the United States? The Iraqi people don't see us as the great liberators that the Bush Administration want us to believe. They see us as occupiers, and they are terrified at the prospect that Iraq will one day be called Greater Jerusalem.
