In May 2002, Kinabatangan Scientific Expedition was carried out, in order to gather biodiversity information of Lower Kinabatangan area. Most of the area is wetland, but secondary forests and limestone forests are scattered along the Kinabatangan River. Here, we listed the species of ants collected from secondary forests and limestone forests in Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary.

Collecting Method
Ground foraging ants were collected by hand-collecting and subterranean ants were collected by litter shifting (for
description of the method see Hashimoto et al. 2001).
