| ANT FAUNA AT CROCKER RANGE PARK,
SABAH, MALAYSIA |

| A preliminary survey of ant fauna was conducted in Mahua, Ulu Senagang and Ulu Kimanis in Crocker Range Park from October 1999 and August 2002. A total of 116 species from 37 genera, 7 subfamilies were collected by hand collecting, litter shifting, honey baiting, cracking logs and Malaise trap. | ||||||||||
| Study sites:
Ants were collected from 3 sites, Mahua, Ulu Senagang and Ulu Kimanis, in
the Crocker Range Park region from October 1999 and August 2002. Collecting methods: Ants were collected by five methods, hand collecting (HC), litter shifting (LS), honey baiting (HB), cracking logs (CL) and Malaise trap (MT) (for description of the method see Hashimoto et al. 2001). Identification of ant species was carried out using Hashimoto's (2003) key and reference collection established by ANeT (Asian Ant researcher network). |
