Since 1995, I've had a personal web site running on my old company's server. It's still there, but, as my Dad points out regularly, I never update it (I'm perpetually 42, for example.) This is the update, instead.

If there's one thing that this family loves to do, it's travel. Whether a two week holiday or just a day's trip to the forests of Northern Minnesota, hardly a week goes by that we're not "out and about" (or, as I'm accused of saying, "oot and aboot.") Recently, our wanderlust has taken us to Tennessee, Mexico, the Rockies and the North Shore of Minnesota. And that's just in the last year!

2006 saw two important weddings. The first was ours, in February at the Fort Snelling Wedding Chapel in St. Paul. The second was Patti's eldest neice, Leslie, who was married in August.

I first learned about geocaching back in 2002, and did a few caches here and there until I met Patti. She took to it like a duck to water, and we've really been building up the cache count. Our favourite caches are remote ones that take a bit of getting to, although Patti also likes urban micro "puzzle" caches a lot more than I do. Either way, we're having loads of fun getting out there and making the finds!

Among the many things that we have in common, Patti and I have bucked the trend of job-jumpers. We've both stayed at the some companies for about twenty years, almost unheard of these days. For Patti, it's life as a Business Analyst and Project Manager for ProStaff, a national temporary staffing company, based in Minneapolis. In my case, it means twenty years spent as the Chief Technology Officer for a company that I co-founded in 1985 to develop accounting software. In 2008, though, there's something new on the horizon...

When we met, I cautioned Patti that I had three cats. She countered with "I have the most adorable puppy in the world, named Oscar." The "most adorable" bit has been debated since, but we all agree that he's about as cute and lovable as can be. I'm not sure that the cats will ever totally be on board with his presence, but they do get on fairly well.

One aspect of my life that has remained pretty constant over the years is my love of music. Between XM Satellite Radio in the car, my ipod when I'm on the run, or iTunes on any of my computers, music is never far away. Of course, variety is what keeps it from getting boring, and I listen to most any genre, from classical to jazz to pop to country to avant garde and industrial. I even write about it sometimes.
