WELCOME to my little portfolio...

Hey! My name's Brian, though I usually go by Addicted2Macs at most forums.

I have a degree in Graphic Design, though I don't really use it for much more than wall decoration in my home office. I work in I.T., using my knowledge of macs and design applications as a computer tech at a mid-size newspaper.

Most of what you'll find on my site is my passion--comics and fantasy art. At one time, I wanted to be a professional comic book artist, working for one of the greats like Marvel, DC, Dark Horse or Image comics. As time went on, I realized that wasn't the most practical of ambitions, so I stuck with graphic design to put some money in my pockets.

Since I was a kid, my love of comics was rivaled only by my love of fastasy (well, that and cheese puffs). I loved anything to do with dragons, knights, monsters and wizards, and still do. Mostly I get my fantasy fix from computer role-playing games like the Diablo series and NeverWinter Nights.

ABOUT THE ART:

All my drawings are done with mechanical pencil on either vellum or smooth finish Bristol Board, 14" x 17". I rarely ever use visual references or work from models. When the pencil drawing is done to my satisfaction, I scan it into Photoshop on a large format flatbed scanner and save it as a TIFF file. I then take that file and color it, using Photoshop's layers and blending options to get the right look I want. Once finished, I make a JPEG copy and post it for all to enjoy.
