aLsystem is a piece of macintosh software
that I wrote in 1998.
A friend of mine, Kent Oberheau, was interested
in L-Systems for generating art .
I needed a project to help me learn to
write C code. This was my first piece of software I ever wrote so
it took a lot longer than it should have and was riddled with bugs.
It did, however, do the job and was actually quite fun to play with.
I added several export functions so we could render out to various packages (RenderMan for me, POV-Ray for Kent).
I've always thought about beefing it up
and turning it into a fully fledged commercial application, but it's such
a niche piece of software that I can't really justify it. It is still
pretty fun to play with.
