How to with Keynote:
Aim:
Here we will look at two different methods of exporting your work with an existing Keynote document. From there you can take the exported QuickTime file into QuickTime Pro, to convert it as a 3gpp file for your streaming server or send direct to your phone.
What will you need:
Hardware: G3 - G4 - G5 Mac.
Software: Keynote - for more info click here.
- Tip: if you want to get a nice looking Keynote presentation on your phone I would recommend:
- Minimum text size if streaming your file 64 points. You might be able to get a way with 46 points depending on your font.
- Use a clean font eg. Helvetica or Arial.
- When picking a Theme in Keynote try and keep to one flat colour rather than with loads of pretty detail as you lose the detail when your document is converted to 3gpp file.
Method A:
This method will show you how to export a standard size keynote presentation at 800x600 pixels.
1. Ok so 1st of all, we'll open up our Keynote. Applications > Keynote
- Tip: a short cut to Applications folder when in the finder is to press "Shift + Apple key + A"
2. Now we will export our Keynote presentation by going to File > Export - QuickTime > Next...

3. In this new window starting at the top we will go though the options:
Playback Control: Self-Playing Movie
- Slide Duration: up to you
- Build Duration: up to you
- Repeat: up to you
Formats: CD-ROM Movie, Medium
- Audio: up to you

Method B:
With this method we will work with keynote presentation at 880x720 pixels. So why 880x720 pixels? Well, if our G3 mobile media size is 176x144 then by increasing the size by a factor of five, we get our keynote size of 880x720. This means that when we export our presentation it will not be distorted, as it would be in method A when converted in QuickTime Pro.
1. So with Keynote open, we will make a new presentation. Now with our new presentation we will go to File > Slide Size... For the width we will type 880 and for height 720.

2. Within the Export... settings window, here are the settings we will make. File > Export - QuickTime > Next...
Playback Control: Self-Playing Movie
- Slide Duration: up to you
- Build Duration: up to you
- Repeat: up to you
Formats: Custom...
- Audio: up to you

3. You should now see this window pop up "Custom QuickTime Settings" so for settings here we go.
Video: Custom Size
- Width: 176
- Height: 144
- Settings: up to you
Audio: up to you

4. Next stage is to go to QuickTime Pro with your new movie.
